The underground and the view
Two sites anchor almost every visit. The Third Infiltration Tunnel takes you underground into a passage dug from the North, and Dora Observatory lifts you up for a view across the buffer zone into North Korea, including the city of Kaesong on a clear day. Together they capture the strange closeness of the two Koreas.
The railway and the peace park
Dorasan Station is a fully built station for a line north that has never run regular service, a quietly moving symbol of hope. Imjingak peace park gathers memorials, a rusting steam engine and the Freedom Bridge, where prisoners of war once returned home.
The bridge and beyond
The Gamaksan suspension bridge, also called the Red Bridge, is a newer draw, a long walk suspended high over a valley near the border. It adds a scenic, slightly thrilling contrast to the history heavy sites.
| Site | What it is | On which tour |
|---|---|---|
| Third Tunnel | Infiltration tunnel | Half and full day |
| Dora Observatory | View into the North | Half and full day |
| Imjingak | Peace park, Freedom Bridge | Full day |
| Gamaksan bridge | Suspension bridge | Full day |
